I've had a cat do this so violently it freaked me out. Eyes rolled back, mouth half open, twitching like a seizure, and patting her enough to shake her a little wouldn't wake her up.
She was totally fine
Yep that’s scary. My cat is a very light sleeper, so I take extra care not to wake her up when she’s dreaming. But once, she was so calm it looked like she wasn’t breathing, so I disturbed her. That was the one day she was sleeping so soundly she didn’t react. It freaked me up and I shaked her, then she woke up. Goddamn.
