Context: anti-fa email and webspace provider (that had two domains) is down. One domain went down, then the other.

EDIT: minor correction, the second domain is still resolving but the server itself is down. Though there's no humor when being pedantic :/

They are probably talking about the Italian bank bending over. Should have used cash.

How exactly does one go about renting servers with cash?

[-] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 2 points 1 day ago

Some VPS providers take crypto I guess

Either:

  1. Go to one of those money eating boxes in stores and around random corners, then check what stuff they have in the "ISP" category. You may struck gold in the pile of shit.
  2. Laptop hanging by wires in your house. You then get a power bill and go to the power company's building (or again, one of those money eating boxes) to pay.

  1. What? Like a server vending machine? Wtf

  2. Cool so now your power company can't do business with you and your home ISP cuts you off. If this were someone in the States they'd probably get deported to a random country to boot

  1. Oh whoops, forgot it's an eastern europe thing. These are everywhere here. It's still a capitalist business but I like these because of the whole "insert cash" thing. This is where kids put their birthday money to buy Minecrap.
    "EasyPay" kiosk
  2. Fair enough... Although I would imagine this happening regardless of if it's hosted at your house or elsewhere. Could also instead rent some "technical space", like the 1 square meter apartment Little John would renovate, then hang your laptop by wires there. Then get the check for it via mail... More complicated, I know, but now that we are going this far...

Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.
