Hello fellow Far Side fans!
About this community and how I post the comic strip… Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips and one of those was The Far Side. These days of course you find just about anything online including www.thefarside.com where they post several comics a day and I repost them here. Just to note, the date you see in my posts is not the initial release date, but the date they were posted on the website.
The Far Side is a single-panel comic created by Gary Larson and syndicated by Chronicle Features and then Universal Press Syndicate, which ran from December 31, 1979, to January 1, 1995 (when Larson retired as a cartoonist). Depends on how deep the person is, but since they're scuba diving in somewhat shallow waters (no wet suit, at the bottom but can see, etc.) not a terribly high amount.
If we assume 50 metre depth and 1 metre diametre plug:
p=ρ×g×h+p0 = 1022 kg/m3(9.8m/s2)(50m)+101kPa = 602 kPa or 87 psi for you Americans.
Area plug = πr2 = π(0.5m)2 = 0.785 m2
F = PA = 602 kPa x 0.785m2 = 472.6 kN or 106 238 lbf
So, far above what a person could pull, but not absurd amounts considering the sizes involved.

It also depends on what's on the other side. It might not be vacuum, though whatever it wouldn't likely be in the hundreds of kilonewtons
