From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Don't sleep on Dell Latitudes.
Dell's Linux support has carried my ~10 year old XPS through a lot of changes and updates. It still runs almost brand new. Not much to complain about.
This comment made me realize my XPS is 11 now.
Hard to believe isn't it? If you're not ray tracing your spreadsheets you don't need to update that often. :-P
Yep, I have a 5290 (since 2023, 2018 model). If I had taken a minimum amount of care for it, it would still be in a great condition. But now, the housing is broken in multiple places and I have to replace the battery. But everything works great.
This. I got a dell latitude 5450 for $400 with a core ultra 7, 16gb ram and a 256gb ssd. There are 2 upgradeable ram slots, and its awesome. Really fast.
Well, I kinda missed the chance. It's extremely expensive now (occasionally checking eBay).
