7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

For some reason when people become very successful in one field, they act like experts in everything.
Ah, the old Aaron Rodgers "I can throw a ball very well, so I must be a genius" syndrome.
I think it's more "very successful in a public-facing high exposure field" rather than generally very succesful in a field.
Human beings tend to look up to those who are famous and, IMHO, because many if not most of famous people end up interiorizing on their side of that equation that, since so many look up to them, their opinion is more important than that of other people.
I'm not sure if they end up believing that they know better than others in fields that have nothing to do with their expertise, if they're just leveraging that human behaviour and their fame to convince people of something they think is important, or even if they're publicly opiniating in controversial subjects purelly to get more media attention because in their domain more public attention turns into more $$$ for them, but ultimatelly from the outside all 3 motivations yield the same behavior from the famous and hence look the same.
