You don't mess with the unions in the Nordics. They have each other's back and will fuck you over hard. When Tesla tried it they even stopped getting mail because the postman union was in solidarity.
But now all strikers at Tesla has been bought out, so IF metal ceased the strike due to no strikers left... not sure if the other unions who sympathy-striked followed suit, but my guess is that they did..
I don't know if that's winning for Tesla? Every union worker got a ton of money and Tesla still can't go crazy with treating their employees because nothing stops them from joining a union afaik.
As sad as it may seem, Tesla did kind of win that fight in the end. All the union employees were bought out in the end, and the strike was called off. Tesla operates with impunity in Sweden.
Also tons of Teslas on the road here. During the time they were in the news for getting torched in the US, nothing of the sort happened here.
To be fair, their sales in Sweden have absolutely collapsed.
You are right, they did end of last year. I however don't know if they picked up again this year.
I was curious and found this site here that I have no clue how credible it is, looks very AI-sloppy, they claim up 25% from end of 2025 to beginning 2026 in Sweden (https://custommapposter.com/article/tesla-s-european-sales-collapse-44-drop-in-2026-what-s-going-wrong/2835).
