The second sentence is absolutely true, but we made our biggest mistake way before that. Not hanging every confederate after the war was probably it. But I’m sure there are historians that could argue for something earlier.
Sherman could have finished the job. Now we have concentration camps. This is what happens when you let conservative cockroaches continue to infest our nation.
Can I just take this opportunity to say I love the rise of shermanposting and it makes me feel like sometimes the internet was only a small mistake.

The left never wants to reign in the right because its improper or against tradition or some ba excuse.

It's a long series of mistakes. Not finishing off the Confederacy, not putting Nixon in prison for Watergate and sabotaging peace talks with the Vietcong, not putting Reagan in prison for sabotaging negotiations during the Iran Hostage Crisis. They've been crooks for a century and there's only one solution.

Of course not. The biggest mistake is believing that "democratic" institutions can somehow regulate economically powerful people.
The system is working exactly as it's supposed to : the bourgeoisie is above the law.
I mean your country was founded by rich white people who didn't want to pay taxes. What so you expect.
