Meta's new personal artificial intelligence agent now sits atop Apple's App Store, ahead of No. 2 ChatGPT, as more consumers put their faith in AI to save them time and money — existential AI fears be damned.

Funny, you'd expect this kind of thing to only be considered "a hit" if interest lasts more than a month, but gotta keep that bubble rolling, eh?

He expects more people to gravitate to AI shopping agents like Muse as they look to hand off cumbersome tasks, such as comparing deals across sites and tracking down products.

Because that was clearly impossible without AI. /s

In another sign of Muse's growing relevance, Amazon confirmed to CBS News that it has blocked the AI app from shopping on its e-commerce platform, citing security and user experience concerns.

Less "relevance" and more "fucking bots eating our bandwidth"

When it comes to shopping, the benefit for customers isn't just saving time; it's also about helping them find deals, Mercer said.

THANK GOD SUCKBERG WOULD NEVER USE A BLACK BOX LIKE THAT TO PUSH BULLSHIT "BEST OFFERS" FOR THE HIGHEST BIDDER, RIGHT? RIGHT???

"People are still a little bit nervous about allowing AI agents to do the purchasing on their behalf,"

Noooooooo, you should totally trust AI with your credit card and bank info! Trust big brother!

I may be missing something. I mainly buy tools and parts for things that I am repairing.

However, comparing products and learning about what I am going to buy is part of the fun of shopping for me.

Comparing products is very subjective and you have to learn about them to be able to understand and make comparisons in the first place.

I really wouldn't want an agent or a human doing it on my behalf as they don't understand my needs.

Apparently, people have a far different idea of what constitutes a 'cumbersome task' than I do. I mean, I'm pretty lazy, but bloody hell.

Oh, Amazon just doesn't want Meta stealing its market share. They've been trying to shove Alexa down our throats for "help" while shopping on Amazon for a while now.
