Man what the fuck are our local politicians doing. Every time I hear his name he's doing something that's actually is helping and getting shit done.
Well, most local politicians are 1) mediocre and 2) not the mayor of one of the largest cities in the world.
The city has more people than 38 states. It's hard to get more visibility than that.
Like, my local mayor ordered the police to forbid certain types of restraints, ban no-knock warrants, and raising the threshold for traffic stops. Also moderately updated the ordinances around recreational marijuana businesses . He's also directed city funds towards fighting homelessness by providing substance abuse counseling and housing them in vacant appointments we already have, and building auxiliary housing.
Pretty good. But there's only around 100k people. It's just not as much impact or visibility.
99% of politicians don't work for the people. A capitalist system will always require anyone with power to chase the money. He's part of the remaining 1%
This is not helping. It's actually allowing AI to be used, unfortunately. "we promise to disclose it" good luck
And if they try to not disclose and get caught, they get fined.
The idea isn't perfection, because scams always exist. It's to make it super risky to attempt to scam and discourage the largest platforms from doing it.
