The cop runs like when I try to run in my dreams
My cat doesn’t seem to be able to catch anything in her dreams either from the way she moves and the noises she makes. Happens to the best of us, I guess.
You have just made me realise that I am an incompetent runner in my dreams. Like I'm trying to run through jelly. Not saying I'm a good runner by any means, but not as bad as I am in my dreams.
It's a common experience
I once told somebody about a recurring dream I have where I can’t control the speed of my car. Apparently your brain is fully aware that your legs aren’t responding to commands and it translates into your dreams.
In your case, not being able to run because your sleep cycle is deliberately paralysing your legs
I used to have dreams where driving was very difficult because the pedals would be positioned awkwardly close. It pretty much defied spatial geometry because it wasn't like there was space behind them for my legs, they were just really close with the wall right behind them but it was only hard to access and manipulate the pedals; I still somehow fit fine into that position.
I can't steer the car in my dreams because I can't lift my head up to see over the dash and I can't peel my eyes open more than slightly to see where I'm going
