“Like this is just the natural order of the universe and was always that way, and nothing has to be done in order to sustain it...”
Conservatism in a nutshell. Or at least modern “conservatism.”
In half a century of watching conservatives, I've seen nothing to convince me that conservatism is anything other than selfishness, ignorance, cowardice and not-thinking-good, dressed up as a political philosophy and demanding a respect it absolutely doesn't deserve.
Yeah, I just recently listened to the Books That Kill podcast where they went over God and Man at Yale, and that book, which was a bestseller in 1951, is apparently what I always thought it was - Buckley sniveling that Yale was not sufficiently coddling conservatives.
This book is still held up as something that is influential, etc. 60 years after it was written, (2011):

These days, you have people wanting to pay little snitches to record teachers being too "woke" or whatever the fuck, and recently that guy calling for being able to supply video streams for parents to keep an eye out for teachers doing "illegal" DEI, or shit like this: (https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/mizzou-probes-professor-caught-in-anti-dei-sting-operation-as-video-draws-scrutiny/ar-AA2cjwiC) but this conservative insanity goes way back. Apparently, Buckley seems to have cribbed all his grievances from other conservatives of the time, so it obviously predates that book he wrote in 1951.
And remember, the typical reactionary centrist narrative is that Buckley was one of the "good conservatives". LOL. The guy that dropped a gay slur on television aimed at Gore Vidal and threatened him with violence.
Buckley also really loved Pinochet
