Specifically, it's a libertarian "utopia" that couldn't have worked in ideal circumstances, let alone under the ocean where cooperation and fight for the common good - thus rewarding the actual workers - would be a necessity to survive.

And how Rapture is different, putting emphasis on a very... Randian view of individualist libertarianism. No regulations, no taxes, no government, everyone does their best and gets the best life, singing kumbaya. Right?

Hell no. The society quickly picks up the worst parts of communism, capitalism, and everything in-between. Workers are exploited, to the point where, just to keep things going, all maintenance (Big Daddies) get genetically modified, spliced into their suits, and brainwashed into doing the most dangerous jobs. Little girls (orphans first, then poor people's kids, at the end even the rich and powerful families' kids aren't safe) are kidnapped, also genetically and biologically modified, for the sole purpose of producing (and extracting from corpses) ADAM, the substance that allows the genetic modification in the first place...

So yeah I can see why it wouldn't be adapted to a movie, especially after Epstein's first arrest for child sex trafficking.
