- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

I'm still no closer to understanding why it's called pink slime
It's a reference to Ghostbusters 2 and how people running those sites make everyone angry by spreading negativity

You are correct, it's actually a reference to highly processed "pink slime meat" made by taking low quality meat meat scraps, chemically sterilizing them within an inch of their life and forcing them through a fine mesh at high pressure, then forming the resulting homogenized slime into a shape that vaguely resembles a real cut of meat. You know, low quality hot dogs, chicken cutlets and nuggets, hamburger, that kind of thing. Stuff that is technically "meat" but mostly the stuff you'd only eat if you were desperate.
I had to verify that you were at least partly right. For, to amend untruth with even greater untruth would be utterly diabolical and also a little funny
