You actually are the same. SearXNG aggregates DDG, unless you've told it not to. Remember, it's a metasearch aggregator not a search engine

I told it not to Aggregate DDG. Also having more than DDG is not the same as just having DDG right?
I mean, so long as you didn't (...or did?) confuse DDG with DDlg, we are copacetic.
