System76's COSMIC desktop now requires contributors to certify that pull requests contain no LLM-generated content. The new template also adds a Developer Certificate of Origin.

I think the point is more - if you are using LLMs to generate code, why would you try to dodge detection there when you could go to one of the many projects that has no rules against LLM generated contributions, or even encourages them.

Probably for the same reasons that led them to that specific project in the first place... other projects may not be relevant to their interests.

I guess that might draw some. Though if their code needs to look human writen, that might help curb some of the worse tendencies of ai coders.
