Still, as is often the case with lust, the feeling petered out naturally. Likes stopped pouring in for Buck. The eruption of passion may have fizzled completely if it wasn’t for the events of September 16, when Kiwibank started sending out floods of legal notices aimed at scrubbing any images of Buck that were connected to a sexual thought, feeling or sentiment from the internet.

They got a bunch of people to watch their ads by doing this. What makes you think they don't understand it?

Any other business, I might think so. But they're a bank, and right now they're a laughingstock. This is not something banks generally want.

Are they though? Are people actually thinking less of KB to the point of leaving because of this?

I didn't claim that. Financial companies as a rule tend to take their public image very seriously, though I have no idea whether it actually matters.
