Plenty of electric cars out there now that can do 300 miles to a single charge.

Plenty of places you could drive to, plug the vehicle in, go about your day and let it charge while you're busy doing something else. Fuel stations meant we had to be with our cars while they were refueling. That's no longer a necessity.

In the event that you are in the extreme minority that really cannot work with an electric vehicle shrug stick with liquid fuel until that changes. But there's no reason to stop the other 90% of the population getting on with a better technology for the vast majority of drives out there. It takes a small change in thinking, that's all.

My partner (in the UK) has a 110 mile a day round trip commute. Work got her an electric van with a 150ish mile range. Annoyingly she also has to do 30-40 miles a day while at work. The math just doesn't work out. However, if her work put a charger on the house (which has tax implications) a fast charger in the work yard, it would work out just fine.

The tech isn't impossible, the tech just needs a little refinement to cover the small percentage of uses cases left that it doesn't work. Yet people focus on the handful of times it's a minor inconvenience, to write off a while developing and improving technology.

Would be great if it applied to me. It doesn't that's my point.

I have to drive long distances, and often have to tow 8000lbs for 250 miles, which no electric truck can currently do on one charge. And with a 35 foot trailer behind me, I'm not fitting in any charge station anyways lol. Not with current layouts.

Then factor in the fact that most people are priced out of owning homes due to capitalism. Which forces you to slow and expensive chargers in the public.

It's the future for sure. It's just not ready for the reality of 30-50% of Americans.

It's literally cheaper for me and far more effective to use E85 fuel at $3 a gallon than to get an electric truck.

But I long for the day that changes.
