If you need to boil water on the stove but you want to minimize heating the house/apartment, boil it in the kettle or microwave first then transfer to stove (slrpnk.net)

Some food preparation can’t be done fully in the microwave, this has helped me minimize radiating heat into the apartment during hot days lately.

https://duxtop-cookware.com/ I have and love the BT-200DZ/9600LS - it’s one burner, plugs into the wall, and you can just stick it on top of the stove.

I bought one if these many years ago and loved it. A couple years ago I got an induction range but I still have my probably unit and still use it on occasion. They really are great.
