It isn't about him, it is about a society that has degenerated to this level to make execution a spectacle. No other civilized nation does this anymore. It makes cruelty part of society.

You act like everyone in the country voted for Trump.

[-] SocialMediaRefugee@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

You don't need 100% participation in something to make it matter.

The US got what it deserved as a society

Sadly, that means that innocent people are affected by it too

[-] AHemlocksLie@lemmy.zip 6 points 5 days ago

Not everyone voted for him, but enough support him that it could actually conceivably happen.

[-] Witchfire@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

About 2/3 of the country did, either directly or indirectly through abstention

[-] Jax@sh.itjust.works -2 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

No, not voting ≠ voting for Trump or fascism. It's bad and definitely the wrong choice - but it's not the same thing by any means.

Kamala was a bad candidate. I voted for her knowing full well what the CA DoJ was like under her (I worked there, it's corrupt and she did exactly fuck all about it). Being disenfranchised, being disabled, living in non-swing states - there are so many factors that go into why people didn't vote. To simply write off every person in the country because the multi billion dollar propaganda machine was successful is thoughtless.

The people have spoken. Americans want this.

[-] Honytawk@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 5 days ago

Not voting still helped Trump win.

who could imagine that we would end up public executions a few years after democrats went along with a genocide live on social media and then demanded everyone vote for them

[-] Jax@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 days ago

Who could imagine a .mler would make a post regarding the Trump regime about Democrats?

[-] Diva@lemmy.ml 0 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

what can i say, we are where we are now cause of their abject failures

do you think we would have more or less public executions if the democrats didn't do a live streamed genocide?
