I've always obsessively kept my photos off any cloud provider for years only to discover that the entire rest of the family have a treasure trove of fully tagged pictures of me uploaded to every major provider out there. In most cases I think it even ties the tag to my phone/email/birthday entry in their Contacts list.

Always wondered about this, if they receive a GDPR request from you do they have to delete others tagged pictures of you and your contact details? I mean it is your personal data technically.

Yeah, they do. AIUI there's some nuance about what constitutes "legitimate interest" so it's possible (probable in fact) they might only delete pictures where you're the main subject but not e.g. group photos from events
