Cancer isn't the only thing to worry about with cigarettes here's my experience :

I quit cigarettes for the second time when COVID happened. I haven't touched a cigarette in almost 8 years.

My sex drive was destroyed, bringing up the laundry wasnt easy, bringing my groceries up the stairs wasn't easy, I couldn't bike the miles I can now; My TMJ was going nuts, my breath smelt like shit, my teeth were being destroyed not just yellowing but actual tooth loss and pain, the amount of arguments that I think I spawned just to have a cigarette, the amount of emotional indifference it causes because you're never truly dealing with anything you're just smoking instead of dealing with whatever the fuck is going on and actually solving life problems is also fucked up.

And man are they stupidly addictive, like there's no possible way to buy a pack of Natural American Spirits and go, "I'm only gonna smoke once a week," trust me I've been there and it's impossible to just be like "I'm only gonna do this when I....." because you will want it again and even if you don't them, they might want you and that's the worst.

It's the absolute worst!!!! 15$/pack too like what the fuck!!!!! There's never gonna come a day where cancer research will outweigh the facts that cigarettes will destroy you. There's over 5,000 chemicals in one cigarette too, it's not just nicotine and tobacco, it's rat poison and arsenics.

Do you know this thing called math?

[-] Hueristic_Autistic@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

2019+7= 2026 next year it'll be my 8th year which is 2027, 2019+8= 2027.

I quit when the pandemic started which it started in 2019, I quit in December of 2019.

I suppose my wording puzzles people sometimes.

Lots of words to not say you were off by one.

I should've said next December will be my 8th year of not smoking cigarettes, for this December is my 7th year of not smoking smoking cigarettes. My wording confused you probably like it did a lot of other people. I suppose it inadvertently became a word problem.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I just realized you are under the delusion that covid started in 2020 and not 2019. That's why you keep saying I'm off by one, you're trolling!!!

Can you really be that fucking dense? October 2026 minus December 2019 = 6 years, 10 months.

[-] Hueristic_Autistic@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

for this December is my 7th year of not smoking smoking cigarettes

Can you really be that fucking dense?

Can you?

2019 in December so it's 7 this year, 8 next year.

Yes, 7+1 is 8. You didn't need screenshots for that :)
