I tend to do similar, but by putting said thing clearly in my path of getting to the things that I can't actually leave my home without. (eg. keys, shoes, etc.) Even if I don't have to take the thing outside, all I have to do is (if I still somehow forget where it is) take a moment to regroup by going on a walk —which the pup is all too happy to lobby for any given moment. 🤘🏼
