Work Reform

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.
Our Philosophies:
- All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
- Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
- Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
- We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.
Our Goals
- Higher wages for underpaid workers.
- Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
- Better and fewer working hours.
- Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
- Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.

MODERATORS
I know you said restaurant, but a vast majority only get 30 minutes for lunch, and you can't go eat in less than 45 minutes. Best you could do is call ahead to have an order ready or have it elected... But at that point delivery or fuel costs count towards meal spending, so bringing food from home would be cheaper, if you're OK prepping ahead of time.
Yes, 30 minutes is a bit too short even if you have a good restaurant nearby. In Sweden we get 42 minutes but in most workplaces nobody's really clocking you. And a couple of options are usually within walking distance.
Still though, I always used to prep for the reasons you said. I feel really lucky now that my workplace has a reasonably good restaurant on site, and there's no issue taking proper lunch breaks.
