A place to share screenshots of Microblog posts, whether from Mastodon, tumblr, ~~Twitter~~ X, KBin, Threads or elsewhere.
Created as an evolution of White People Twitter and other tweet-capture subreddits.
RULES:
- Your post must be a screen capture of a microblog-type post that includes the UI of the site it came from, preferably also including the avatar and username of the original poster. Including relevant comments made to the original post is encouraged.
- Your post, included comments, or your title/comment should include some kind of commentary or remark on the subject of the screen capture. Your title must include at least one word relevant to your post.
- You are encouraged to provide a link back to the source of your screen capture in the body of your post.
- Current politics and news are allowed, but discouraged. There MUST be some kind of human commentary/reaction included (either by the original poster or you). Just news articles or headlines will be deleted.
- Doctored posts/images and AI are allowed, but discouraged. You MUST indicate this in your post (even if you didn't originally know). If an image is found to be fabricated or edited in any way and it is not properly labeled, it will be deleted.
- Absolutely no NSFL content.
- Be nice. Don't take anything personally. Take political debates to the appropriate communities. Take personal disagreements & arguments to private messages.
- No advertising, brand promotion, or guerrilla marketing.

I've had it the other way around, not even on purpose. As the designated nooby sound engineer for the evening I had to mix the bands monitoring as well as the live mix for the audience. During the sound check one of the band members wanted their vocals to have a bit more "pop" in the mix, and not knowing what that exactly meant I asked them what they wanted. I don't really remember what it was they said, but it was something about boosting certain frequencies. Now, I have never had to do this before, and while I in principle knew how to do it the request kind of took me out of the flow so in the moment I completely forgot. So while this musician was looping his vocals so I could make the change, I was just selecting random menus on the console hoping I would end up at the right one. And, at some point, the guy was like, "oh yeah that's perfect!"
I had not changed any EQ at all. I wasn't even close to the right buttons, so to speak. But he still liked it, so I shut up and let them do their thing. Honestly I think it might've been his on inflection into the mic that made him change his mind, not the actual EQ, but whatever, he was happy with the mix and I was happy that I did not look like a total noob (even tho I was)
