Linux kernel devs drop obligatory confession of AI tool usage

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

wait till you find out how floating point works 🤣
Same with statistics and probability. But they still have a point.
Which is that they don't understand how statistics and probability work. The LLM generalizes patterns that get imprinted on the neural network during training, and then these patterns are expressed in the given context during inference. The stochastic aspect of the system is what allows the LLM to adopt generalized training to the specific problem being solved. So, the outputs LLMs produced are clearly not random in a sense of playing bingo because randomness is not the dominant property of the system.
