... How fucking many ai slop office suites are we going to have to see news for?
There are already good office suites not connected to Microsoft, so why is everyone trying to reinvent the goddamn wheel? A fraction of them are going to get regular updates, the rest will be abandoned. What's the point?
Probably about as many as AI photoshop clones.
I will add that there are so many good distros of Linux, why are we making more than… a handful?
Maybe AI can help? (Joke)
And GIMP already exists.
I just don't understand the purpose of all these abandonware systems and software when those same people could be helping in projects that actually work well already.
Feels like it's all for some jackasses resume, which means it isn't news and no one should waste the bandwidth to even write an article.
Gimp is trash.
So help work on that project instead of starting a new one.
Also it's very far from trash, it's just not Photoshop.
and photogimp exists, which makes it real damn close to photoshop if that’s what you prefer
Gimp doesn’t want what I want. They want gimp.
And you want AI slop replacements of photoshop?
I have no idea, I haven’t tried any of them. Will I prefer using them to gimp or photoshop?
Who knows you don't bother describing what you want or what your using it for, you just complain about one system not doing what you want, while providing no information at all.
Either to entice investment or employment?
Or someone wanted to do this as a hobby project, got much further than they expected and decided to farm clout.
Those are my guesses.
If it's just a hobby project you wouldn't think it'd get an actual release. Let alone fanfare from the Linux news pages.
Resumes makes some sense, but anyone can ask an AI to do what these projects are doing so it doesn't really show the dev as skilled.
