Hi all,

So my wife and I have been told yesterday that the return of her breast cancer is incurable and so the treatment options are all going to involve trying to keep it at bay.

As such the first thing that they will be doing is effectively switching off her ovaries and forcing an early menopause. I know barely anything about menopause, what that is going to entail for her both physically and mentally or things to expect.

Can anyone recommend any books for me to check out that can explain and help me to understand what she is about to go through with this so that I can better help support her?

You might want to read Seyfried's book "cancer as a metabolic disease". Fixing/improving metabolism can help keep it at bay.

book cover

There is a much more condensed medical text https://doi.org/10.1016/B978-0-12-821617-0.00012-7 but it's a bit harder to read, the PDF is on the high seas sites

Ooo thanks. I have started on some of the recommendations but obviously my particular case is more specific so a lot of the info in there is helpful to know in terms of what to expect but a lot of the suggestions of things that could help just aren't relevant to me because she can't get HRT or take any of these supplements that are spoken about so this may have some better information for us!

Cheers!
