I currently have Torbox and Debridio as a scraper while using Nuvio on all my devices and that setup works pretty well. Debridio is a yearly sub and pretty cheap. Torbox has a tier structure for their subs but essential is good enough for most people.
Warning however, all of the things I just mentioned are vibecoded so getting support is quite egregious. AI bros tend to get pretty insecure when you bring up the idea of Claude having made a mistake, even innocently.
And aside from getting support, the discord servers of these services are some of the worst discord has to offer. Everyone worth asking anything in the Torbox server, for instance, are incredibly immature. Not to mention the flagrant bigotry.
Just understand the kinds of people you're gonna be talking to. A lot of them have some pretty serious god complexes, and I'm not bringing this up out of nowhere I've been a customer in this scene for years. But most importantly, abandon the idea of loyalty here. Sticking with one service will likely only hurt you, as enshittification consumes quickly in this scene. Good luck.
Ah, right - debridio was the paid torrentio.
I'm really curious if the results justify the additional cost (even if it's $9/yr).
...as I said, I've had horrible results with zilean and comet. If $9 solves that problem, it would be worth it.
Regarding support, heh yeah, I gave up on that a long time ago (hence, why I posted this question on Lemmy ;)
If Debridio is just AI vibe coded, then you could get around the subscription part by just AI vibe coding a Debridio clone. Pirating a piracy search tool is just piracy².
Pretty sure an LLM agent being walked through the Debridio UI with instructions to clone out the parts probably is piracy if nothing else by non-attribution of clearly copied parts. "Clean room" itself is super gray area and not legally tested.
Reminds me of how people unprompted will just let you know "I'm a vegan". I didn't ask.
