Do not let perfection be the enemy of good.
Vance does not have any of the charisma nor the following that Trump has. His ability to coalesce a ruling party is low. It's why Trump is still in power.
The bigger issue as I see it is that Trump wants to rule by charisma first. I don't think Vance particularly gives a shit if people curse his name - meaning that, at the first sign of things getting out of hand, I think he's more willing to hit the "start killing protestors until the streets are red" button.
Vance has no charisma and he knows it. He is an empty vessel made by Peter Thiel and others.

Yep! Add in that what's left of MAGA will viciously turn on Vance for all the things they could bring themselves to pin on Trump. Vance'll be a copegoat.
With no charisma or leverage to get anything extreme done. It isn't their daughter in law that controls the GOP and is able to fund primary challengers.

They'd be morons to run Vance in 2028. As sitting VP he can't fill a high school auditorium.

I didn't say anything about impeachment. What would matter if they did anyway? A presidential impeachment has never ended in consequences. No, they just want have the ability to jam through controversial bills or wars. Congress won't just go along with them.
