Way too many people voted yes to the other 9 questions

The vote to remain is not the victory we think it is. This is an indication that Alberta will not change its voting habits and will continue to vote against self-interest if it means seeing less immigrants. We voted to remain... we also voted to be racist, and deprive people of services. We voted for things that are already law and arent up for discussion like voter ID during elections.

To me this is a UCP victory and indicates they will continue being elected. This is an indication that the culture war rhetoric will not be ramping down and that this province is all in.

I am so beyond disappointed with these election results. I really thought we would know better and Im so tired of waiting for Albertans to finally be informed and make informed decisions.

Im tired boss.

My job moved me to Alabama a couple of decades ago. One of the craziest places in North America. The first week I was there, I turned on the TV and the governor was dancing like a monkey and making chimp sounds to prove evolution wasn't true.

Things could be worse.

You can't fix stupid. There's not a pill you can take, or a class you can go to. Stupid is forever. Just keep your head down and try not to be murdered by a zealot.

Life is about to get a LOT harder in Alberta and it is already really hard here. Im tired of doing the insanity thing of always trying the same thing here and always being disappointed.

I still routinely have to tell people here that there have never been litter boxes in schools for kids... i just cant do it anymore. Its like we have a lead poisoning problem. Albertans will never beat the allegations of enjoying being ignorant.

I don't know if this is helpful at all but I fled TX for much less and never regret it. I got lucky though, had a friend who put me up for a couple years in WA until I could get on my feet. I know TX does have some small pockets of good people, if not reasonably tolerable. Hopefully you can find them if you can't/won't leave but fwiw I don't think you can fight a whole State/province. Go where you can be happy.

Honestly i think im coming to terms that Im in an abusive relationship with this province holding on to potential that will never be realized and old times that are fewer and further between

Everyone I love is here but the attitude of this province and the city of Calgary is pure rot. The whole place would close a door on a house fire just to pretend nothing is happening and everything is fine. Theyd eat their shit to make you smell their breath. Why am I fighting for people who constantly let me down? Idk. Maybe its time I move to a place where people already fight for each other and already know this culture war bullshit is hiding canadas TRUE problem which is decrepit nonfunctional antitrust and a country run on monopolies and controlled by private interest in media and legislation.

Like... im kicking myself for staying. I really genuinely thought as my generation grew up things would change here. I was clearly wrong.

I'm definitely not saying it will be easy, I had to restart from scratch, but even with nothing being somwhere that was even remotely sane was such a huge difference. I'm not saying you have to or even that you should, but if you started looking for an escape route I will say I have no regrets pursuing mine.
