Peaceful protest won't stop them from staying in power. We, as a people, have had all the warning for what's coming, and yet I don't know of anyone suggesting a realistic, practical plan to combat the theft of power that's going to take place.
Any Federal politician who actually cares should be giving public statements about what responses will occur if election results are denied at various levels, should be inviting international observation, should be responding to voter expungement, should prepare responses in case of ICE intervention at polling places, etc.
And everyday people... we should be like the French: angry, motivated, and ready to take the kids gloves off. People should be prepared to be arrested, prepared to go on strike, and prepared to be disruptive.
If any offices are stolen, there should be fires and barricades.
Republicans don't need to "seize power", nor do they want to (in my opinion).
Democrats will win, the Republicans count on it. They're a tag team. One is the heel, the other is the face.
Answer me this... if the Democrats are truly "the good guys" why can't they ever roll back Republican changes? Every term, they can't manage to reverse the vast majority of Republican tax cuts (for one example).
Amazon, Tesla, JP Morgan, et al always coincidentally gets what they want.
Our political system is fundamentally deceptive and has been corporate owned for decades.
Re the French, they are in a country that's smaller than one US state with four times the population density. Getting thousands together is much, much more difficult, and it won't happen in most of the country, just key cities (like NYC and LA).
All of this talk of revolution is what the Democrats are for. They're a release valve. The Republicans won't seize power and bite the hand that feeds them, there's enough money for bOtH sIdEs to get rich, win or lose, they both get a billion dollars an election.
They won't get that money so easily if there are no elections. It's a massive money laundering scheme, and they don't even have to hide it.
We'll see in a couple weeks.
There's no need to riot in some rural shithole with 30 people. The big cities are all that matters, that's where the money is, where it hurts. That is not an excuse not to riot.
I get it, it's harder to meet up for a big riot in NYC, when living in bumfuck nowhere, but the people in those dense areas should already be more than enough, if they commit. The ones in the nowheres of the country can show their dissent other ways, still, or find a closer riot nearby.
Dems putting out feelers for mercenaries yet?
Peaceful shutdown, if enough do it in the cities, enough to bring the wheels of production to a halt and sustained for a week or two (which is hardly enough time to starve or be evicted) will have the Houses running for impeachment so fast it might set a new benchmark on what is the highest achievable speed.
