I haven't distro hopped much in the past few years, so I am near clueless. I know that Linux Mint has a graphical updater and I vaguely remember openSUSE having it, though I'm not so sure on that one, because as I mentioned, it's been a while. Especially curious if any Arch-based distros have it.

Tumbleweed has Myrlyn or Discover.

I'd forgotten about Myrlyn. I guess I never switched over to it from the older YaST software updater, which does not have the equivalent of 'zypper dup'. But from what I read now, Myrlyn does, so that is good.

Discover does not, however. Not only does it not do the equivalent of 'zypper dup' it does not resolve package conflicts that can arise with external repos.

For anyone reading whose not familiar, on Tumbleweed, 'zypper dup' (or the Myrlyn equivalent) is what you need to run periodically to update to the latest snapshot (and being a rolling distro, new snapshots come out anywhere from every day to every few days, depending how the automated testing goes).

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
