Because of communicating with people elsewhere, remote work & watch parties, I have my Conky show the time in a few key time zones. And they automatically update when those time zones that have a DST change (mine doesn't). So far, so good.
But I'd like a little more warning about start / end of DST. Like maybe:
- an indicator warning me in advance before a time zone changes (like it did in Europe today). Maybe shown during the 7 days before the change.
- an indicator for a timezone that has just changed. Maybe shown during the 7 days after the change.
I know I could (and will) set up warnings in my personal calendar, but ideally I'd also like Conky to show me somehow. Maybe change text colour? An asterisk or other symbol? Something else?
Is that possible?
Also, it's been so long since I set it up, I've forgotten what little Conky skills I ever had, so please be patient with me ๐

I don't know about Conky, but I wanted to make sure you are aware that there is a Linux package with all the DST information, tzdata. So, you can query that for all your time zone information (including DST transitions)
https://samanpavel.medium.com/time-zones-tz-database-and-linux-8dd9d451caa4
Timezones and DST are set by the respective countries so it's possible for them to change. IANA directly maintains tzdata so if there are any changes the update should come quickly, but you would need to be aware to go and get it.
