~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

Funnily enough, when I bought a cheap VR headset, ca. 2020, I did try out the usual things like Google Earth, and, of course, at some point got curious about the, uh, adult contents. Who wouldn't? Y'know, just to take a look...
But somehow, it is... much less erotic. People doing it in 3D is somehow much less cool and much more weird than regular old smut. I blame it on being too realistic for fantasy, yet clearly being not realistic enough for the real thing. The uncanny valley of porn.
I imagine a holodeck would be the same, maybe even worse. Just not working.
In this world, there's absolutely no way that a holodeck isn't going to be recording everything, and sharing those recordings with the government, targeting advertising clients, your mother, the HR department at your job, and anyone else who's willing to pay for it.
I'm pretty sure characters in a holodeck can materially interact with you. So basically it should be quite realistic?
A holodeck gooner is still a weirdo in my book. Just go fuck someone, for chrissakes
So does a blow-up doll, and despite what yellow press is trying to tell us, Japanese sex bots haven't stolen all the red light jobs yet. I guess some jobs are safe from AI, after all.
The holodeck is a bit more comprehensive at replicating reality than that.
