Ouch. Wonder how many contaminated feet of fruit are out there now.

Mmm... You can really taste the tinins

[-] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 21 points 4 days ago

This unironically sounds like an imperial system measurement. "It was 10,000 fruitfeet of contamination."

[-] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

If my math is good, it takes about 133,000 fruit feet to line one olympic-sized swimming pool, though that's assuming 2m constant depth.

No idea why Olympic sized pools are the standard pool comparison unit. You'd figure most people would be able to better relate to like Y sized pools.

Which is 69.44 orchards, of course.

Not great. Not terrible.

But only at 70 degrees, where the dog sits, as all imperialists know

[-] 1995ToyotaCorolla@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

How many football fields is that?

I doubt this implies that any are contaminated. The metal disk will certainly be a device that's safe for contact with food.

[-] DonkeyStar@lemmy.world 26 points 4 days ago

The problem is that it got through, so the metal detector isn’t working, and nobody noticed.

[-] impairedimperator@lemmy.zip 9 points 4 days ago

Lol. One of my first jobs was working a canning plant. QC procedure for the metal detector was to rerun the test can until it kicked it out properly and then mark it as "functional".
