The dems don’t care. They’re just doing this so they get elected. Then if/when they’re elected, it’ll get buried again.
Also the instance I haven't seen it before and there was a cm0002 account with that instance that appeared to have no bio?
"Democrats aren't doing anything!
Democrats do something.
"They don't mean it though!"
These kind of defeatist comments smell like all those Harris will start WW3 astro turf comments from the last election cycle.
Sure, could be that they do the right thing for the wrong reasons. But it's still the right thing.
So much this. I hate when people are like "they don't really believe that" in response to some public statement. The public statement itself is important! Half a politician's job is public speaking. What they say in public matters just as much as what they do in private, and immediately attacking someone for doing the unobjectionably right thing is self defeating.
So far as I can tell, the only meaningful push to hold any Epstein pedophile accountable has come from the Dems, with the one Republican who pushed for it being ousted by the GOP and Israel.
I wouldn't immediately jump to doomerism conclusions when so far all the evidence is pointing you in the other direction. Just get off your ass and go vote for the Dems.
"The opposing candidate is not perfect/only slightly better, so we may as well wallow in shit up to our noses instead of it being only up to our chest"
No one suggested not voting for them.
Unless you read this thread (or 10,000 others on Lemmy) where that sentiment is not unpopular
I think people are just sick of Coting for the same thing just different shades. I mean have the demoxrates stood up to trump no they've rolled over many times the past two years. I do not expect them to do any better I'd they win the senate. I hope I'm wrong but we well see.
There's a concerted effort on lemmy to discourage votes for democrats. I think it's obvious why that is.
Next time if you want to be taken seriously, acknowledge this well known fact, also take a moment to proofread...
In my experience a very large amount of lemmy users support an idea that you should not vote for the democrats because afterwards complatency is too easy while more of Trump may unlock a civil war revolution.
I highly disagree with it and i dont think it will work out that way. I rather fight facist-lite then cant-wait-for-an-excuse-to-bomb-“woke”-cities-facism but i do understand the logic those “users” apply.
The real question is, are those users actually real people voicing their personal opinions or are they trolls/bots. Its not a good sign how increasingly vocal they are right in front of a US election and suddenly silent afterwards. Complacent much?
My suggestion is to vote lesser evil and then the moment they win a No-kings protest, continueing to grill the entire office to make it clear their polical win comes with 0 support from the people.
I've literally never seen anyone on the threadiverse suggest that you should not vote for Democrats.
Wait here a second.
There we are, found it.
There are LITERAL accelerationists here that will tell you that voting is bad, because the system needs to get worse, so it can finally collapse. And they are not a small minority, though a minority they remain. They will gladly sacrifice anyone who dies to a fascist regime on their way to accelerate the collapse.
I think you're mistaken. That post says "vote your ass off".
I linked to a specific comment by kreskin, read that.
Then your link is broken
Works for me... hmmm... does this work for you?
Maybe you are just lucky but most likely its my own fault for enganging to much with these people. They are rarely explicit about it in the first comment.
Well personally I find it disgusting to suggest that we shouldn't hold "our team" accountable simply because the other team is worse.
I've literally never seen anyone on the threadiverse suggest that we shouldn’t hold them accountable, or that they are “our team” for that matter.
As i said before. My suggestions is to make it clear that a vote =\= support by large anti fascist protestation the second they get elected.
Yeah, this guy replying to you does not have any good faith.
Your comment is the reason i engange. Things are rarely obvious at first.
If that's not what the original comment I replied to was suggesting, then I'm not sure what it was. This whataboutism comes up constantly.
Yeah, so you have literally seen zero comments about not voting for Democrats, but everyone is constantly trying to cover for Democrats....
Why do you so freely admit to lying like this, honestly? You could do your canvassing without being so insanely obvious about it.
Its the pre election timing.
Bertlewirth does not appear as a troll/propaganda to me. But i can understand that fonix may have confused them with being such because in many peoples experience there is a huge movement of democrat bashing right before an election that stops just after it. Pretty much the opposite of what it should be.
The whatabout facism-lite when we should idealy do everything to stop the facism-hard is one of the reasons many progressives are jumpy right now.
I don't understand any of the words you're saying. Can you try again in English?
Or would you prefer Russian?
Sorry, i didnt know you where a child.
Sorry, didn't know you were a kiddie diddler protector.
Maybe but do you think a rapist is a good leader?
Thank you for the tag request.
possibly but better not to have a rapist as President though
If they try to bury it they're going to meet the same fate. And Dem voters will be far less forgiving.
That's probably what they hope to do, but as Trump and co. have shown, you can't quite put that genie back in the bottle that easily. They'll definitely be looking for an opportunity to sweep it under the rug though.
