That's just more shit to carry. I don't want to have pockets overflowing with dongles.
As I already said, you plug it into the end of your headphone jack. It's not something you carry separately.
Your headphone cable is now 1cm longer. It's the same as if you bought headphones with a USBC cable.
Except for when I switch my headphones to another device that uses the 3.5mm, or if I switch from in-ear to over-ear, if if I want to plug my phone into my stereo. In all those cases I have to move the dongle around.
You shouldn't need dongles to use headphones. There is no rational reason a phone can't have a headphone jack, it's just Apples insanity spreading to the rest of the phone manufacturers.
It's actually hard to buy a single dongle. They're like 4 for $9. So you put one on everything.
For home stereo I bought a Bluetooth dongle and leave that plugged into the stereo.
So it's not perfect, but it's not like you can't plug in your phone.
I was angry about headphone jacks for a long time but it's easier to pick your battles and motion to more important things
The dongle stays plugged into the headphones don't it. You're carrying headphones and dongle as one piece.
Until I unplug the headphones to use an AUX port in my car. Or switch between my in-ears and over-ears. Headphones jacks are tiny and useful, and they should be included.
Needing a dongle to plug headphones into your phone is the kinda shit Apple wants people to think is normal, but is actually insane.
Who the fuck is going out with their headphones plugged in 100% of the time?
I think what they mean is that you leave the dongle plugged into the headphone cable, not that you leave the dongle plugged into the phone.
Oh right
