Your guilt has already been determined, this is merely a sentencing hearing. Now what will it be? Impeachment or resignation?

For one, people in most government positions serve at the pleasure of the electorate and the president. Its not about whether hes done anything he could be convicted for criminally (though he has). It also about whether or not he is wanted out by the people at large.

For two, the guy literally admitted in his election response video that his goal is to continue the extrajudicial murder of people trafficking drugs, which should have nothing to do with the military. He has admitted to, and admitted he plans to continue, committing undeniable war crimes. There is no question “if” he is guilty…

My pasta in Crisco, impeachment and removal is exactly about an elected or appointed official violating legal or ethical codes of conduct.

If the impeachment is over something criminal in nature, yeah. It can also just be about ethics, or even non-ethical shit. Clinton getting head was hypothetically impeachable, but not because it was criminal. Arguably it wasnt even unethical, other than him being married, assuming that she was qualified and performing her job otherwise. It was just a bad look

Clinton's impeachment was for perjury after he testified that he did not have "sexual relations" with her. The Senate didn't convict because before he testified he asked the House committee to define terms and they defined "sexual relations" as intercourse, so under the definition they gave he did not lie about it.
