Hi everyone, I have an old Google account that I don’t use anymore, and I’m thinking about deleting it. But I’m worried I may have used that email address for government services or other important accounts in the past, and I don’t want to overlook something that could cause problems later.

What should I check before deleting it? Do you have similar experience?

Why not retain it? It won't cost anything, and you might find a use for it eventually (I use my GMail account for automated testing of my email server).

And if you don't trust Google to safeguard your data, delete just the data.
