If Reddit is restoring deleted posts and comments, could they be in violation of GDPR if OP was from the EU?

Only if they asked for data deletion as per the GDPR rules

  • account deletion is never considered the same thing as data deletion, be explicit and dont trust these guys.

  • if you delete all your posts but not your account you haven't fully removed your data anyway, so they can keep it.
