Insecure people would game it. Every time you make plans with someone, hit the button. Then get mad if they hit theirs too.

You say that as if I can actually say no to people.
Not trying to sound facetious but one of the best things I've learned for myself was saying no to people when I needed to.
Most especially work.
That's not insecurity, that's straight-up dysfunctional.
