Is that some ancient KitKat branding, or does KitKat just look very different in other parts of the world?

What are the other parts of the world in this context? This is how they look in the US and Canada IIRC

Here in the Netherlands they look different, a little more ‘shiny’, nestle-branded and with an image of a broken KitKat on it.

That’s just what KitKat looks like in the US. In most (if not all) of the rest of the world KitKat is a Nestle brand but here it’s a Hersheys brand.
