The amount of apps being developed for iOS / Android is getting really crazy now and new apps keep popping up every day. Updated list below:

  • Artemis (iOS, Android, kbin, lemmy): link
  • Kbam (iOS, kbin, lemmy): link
  • Memmy (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Mlem (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Morpha (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Thunder (iOS, Android, lemmy): link
  • Beyond (iOS, Android, kbin, lemmy): link
  • Jerboa (Android, lemmy): link
  • Slide (Android, lemmy): link
  • Sync (Android, lemmy): link
  • Connect (Android, lemmy): link
  • Summit (Android, lemmy): link
  • Lemon (iOS, lemmy): link
  • Liftoff (iOS, Android, lemmy): link
  • Boost (Android, lemmy): link
  • Bean (iOS, Android, lemmy): link
  • WefWef (Web App, lemmy): link

Most apps on the list are lemmy apps, meaning they don't work with kbin. Artemis is specifically designed to work with kbin, not sure if or when any of the other ones will go in that direction or become interoperable as there are some challenges with the kbin API at the moment. Having said that, a new API is in the works (https://codeberg.org/Kbin/kbin-core/pulls/357) so things should get better with time.

Some of the apps are in a very early stage of development so it may happen that they adjust OS availability and platform support.

Don't forget wefwef - an apollo-like progressive webapp (for iOS, android later) under active development I'm working on ^_^

Also works great on tablets and desktop! And it's hackable, self-hostable and open source, because it's a progressive webapp.

I like your app's simple and beautiful design. Some suggestions:

  • Your "install app" page says Safari even though I'm using Firefox on the desktop. Perhaps you can change the instructions based on browser detection

  • Images are always displayed in full height. Will you consider setting a maximum height for images so tall images won't affect browsing the posts?

  • The login page says "Due to CORS, all requests to will be proxied through wefwef.app". Can you elaborate and give reassurance that privacy would be respected by your app? Perhaps a privacy policy under the settings page would help.

  • The profile page has a very short list of instances. Is there a logic on how those instances are selected? I support that you are selective about what instances are included. I hope to see the instance managed by weirdos to be excluded.

Hi! These are great questions ๐Ÿฅฐ

  • Yes, there are absolutely plans to make install app logic smarter!
  • Currently, image render in the feed similar to apollo. However... are you viewing on mobile or desktop? Is there a particular post that's problematic? I might add more logic around this, but for mobile in portrait, it should be intended. Note that in the post page, there is a height limitation to 50% viewport. Oh, and a compact feed view is planned!
  • Yeah, I need to write a privacy policy. I'll get this done today or tomorrow.
  • The short instance list is just for an MVP. I definitely plan on expanding it!

You can also choose any instance by adjusting the URL on the posts page. For example, (assuming you're logged out) you can view midwest.social with the following link: https://wefwef.app/posts/midwest.social/all. However, you make a good point about being selective - I might create a blacklist, as I don't want wefwef to be used by hate groups.
