It still plays audio even if the soundbar is disconnected. The soundbar almost always wakes if you boot it to tv, but if your boot it to YouTube or HDMI there’s a 50/50 chance the tv will just not wake the soundbar.

ooof yeah, that's some subprocessor drama.

Question: Have you tried a cold boot? A lot of those subs don't actually reboot on a power up/down event, you need to power down, unplug from mains and let the capacitors drain (about 10-20 seconds) to restart them
