I wonder if aussie.zone is going to get hammered today
I feel like people would have made the switch by now. ? The writing on the wall has been around for a while.
There was some that were undecided that's why there was emergency spruiking done.
I watched that go down. You make an excellent spruiker plant.π
Just doing my bit of community service.
I'm someone that was in denial. Now that the app I was using to browse reddit is down I've had to do some research to figure out where the communities have gone..
I think a lot of people were apathetic but are finally pulling the pin just because their favourite apps have been scuppered. I'm not going to lie, even I thought there was a chance of a last second Hail Mary pass but evidently not
The Hail Mary was a pipe dream. Reddit wants to go public. From what I understand, the valuation has been slashed (Iβm not sure why but I donβt think itβs the API fiasco) so that offering could be pushed back a bit? Reuters reported that reddit was aiming for 2nd half of this year.
The NSFW subreddit piece is the thing to watch. I think itβs a lynchpin to mass migration. ??
I'm just surprised the 3rd party app developers didn't start making apps for the fediverse earlier, since they've known about this for a month - I can't help but think they were also hoping that reddit would cave at the last minute.
Very curious to see where the NSFW subs go, too.
