Hear me out and this sounds crazy but

Use whatever system fits your group the best. Sometimes that results in some system that isn't dnd in the first place

Basically the whole reason Pathfinder exists. Or, ridiculiusly broadly, the reason ANY other system exists ๐Ÿ˜
