I was on Centrelink for almost 10 years, when I was my mum's end of life carer and then I had the kids, and it sucks. One thing that pissed me off is the idea that if they pay more you won't be motivated to find work, so they have to pay you a very small amount. But that's not right, because when they doubled the jobseeker payment during covid I had a taste again of what it was like to have more money. It was this, having more money, that made me more motivated to find work, not subsisting on fuck all. They've got it all arse about.
