As a 3d printer enthusiast, I object to you implying that 3d printed parts aren't high quality, while acknowledging that you're very correct.

agreed, sometimes it makes sense to accept that trying to do everything isn't worth it

It also makes more sense in this context IMO

3D printing is really cool for when you need a small amount of a custom part

When you need to mass produce something, you might as well invest in equipment to make it faster and for cheaper
