Did read your whole comment but I definitely think I need to read faraway paladin. I dropped the anime because I was bored and didn't read the manga because of that. If it's better I'll give it a shot

hmmm, it gets a lot more philosophical. the god of decay and god of light start kinda fighting for his soul. it becomes a story of the god of decay making a lot of really really good points.
