I really don't get the outrage when something dares to have a black character. Doesn't affect anybody. I wonder if these dudes also scream about medieval inspired games and tv shows having dragons.
Also this was a 5 second google of 'black samurai' (TW description of seppuku) https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/who-was-yasuke-japans-first-black-samurai-180981416/
The only time I struggled was when they had Black Hermione in the Cursed Child play. I would have had zero qualms with her being black at the outset, and I was logically on-board with JK Rowling when she said "the books never specify her race, it's unimportant to her character". I'm even someone who can separate the movie and book portrayal of a character most of the time.
But Emma Watson has completely brought this character to life. I just couldn't reconcile the new actress with the character in that example.
Anything that they can't fap to is "ThE wOkE aGeNdA". They don't about actual historical accuracy, they just use that as a cover for their cold takes and plain old racism.
